Director Jora Frantzis (Cardi B, Rosalia, Rolls Royce) is always pushing the creative envelope with new stylistic ways to not only capture the beauty of an artist but tell the story of the song in a music video. Jora has worked with JLo before on the “Medicine” music video that has over 31 million views on YouTube alone.
JLo known for here high concept videos including dance, story telling and stunts, decided to collaborate with Director Jora Frantzis whom also is a very successful photographer. Creating a very complicated stylized lighting set up by director of photography Rob Witt. Jora was able to capture moments in this video that would take most directors weeks of prep to shoot on a film.
Jora brought in TJ White from T Minus Productions to work with Jennifer Lopez and her Stunt double to create the floating and flying effect. Keeping your talent and crew safe is one of the most important duties of a stunt team. TJ and his team has worked with JLo on several projects over the years creating a trust between the artist and TJ and his stunt team.
Amazon Prime goes big at Comic-Con with there Activation Experience for 3 of their TV shows. The Boys, The Expanse, and Carnival Row. Tool of America of Los Angeles produced this 4 day event at Comic-Con in San Diego. They took over a 60K SQ Foot parking lot and transformed it into three different sets. There is nothing better than an early 70’s Chevelle, a couple of stunt police cars, Hollywood Stunt drivers, and some dirt. Director Isaac Rentz pulls together some high octane action with this DJ Marshmallow featuring Kane Brown music video. Proving that car chases, stunts, and music always win. This Hound Productions project that was produced by Michelle Larkin, Missy Galandia and Isaac Rice closed down roads in Palmdale just outside Los Angeles to achieve this car chase that resembles a high speed action scene in TV shows like “The Dukes of Hazard” or “Knight Rider”.
Stunt Cooridnator TJ White has worked close with Issac Rentz on his action projects for years. TJ brought in his Stunt Team to stunt drive in the music video and had the cars prepped for the stunts by Studio Picture Cars and picture car coordinator Ken Fritz Jr. The dust and high temperatures were really tough on the cars but the Car Prep crew were on it between takes to keep the cars running.

Boy in the Castle’s CEO and Director Colin Tilly pushing the envelope even further with Post Malone’s recent Music Video “Goodbyes” ft. Young Thug (Rated R). Colin is always pushing the envelope in music videos through story, visuals, and dynamic performances with talent and their music.
In the “Goodbyes” video, Colin created an environment much like you saw in movies like “Grease” or “The Outsiders.” Where the type of fighting was more one on one and they would be using a knife as a weapon. In this fight we knew who was going to win but we didn’t know the story of how we were going to achieve that. Colin has worked with Stunt Coordinator / Fight Coordinator TJ White from T Minus Productions for many years. So he brought TJ in to help out with the action on this project. Bringing in a Stuntman that can act is key for a fight like this one with your main talent. We want the talent to be safe on the shoot, but we also want it to look dynamic and realistic. When you walk through the choreography you are designing the action in a way that it looks believable and your main talent will be able to do the action. Then you can then jump into the design of the camera movements.
Being able to work with a professional like Colin and Post Malone, you are not only able to be creative with the action but you can think out of the box with a scene. Post Malone was very into the scene and his character and really wanted the fight to look realistic.

Viacom’s Nickelodeon channel does it again producing a live-action Sponge bob square pants 20th anniversary episode. Jonas created a dynamic creative environment bringing to life these cartoon charters that people have been watching for 20 years. Using the actors that play these characters voices was the icing on the cake. This showed “Sponge Bobs Square Pants” loyal fans the characters live. Jonas also created fun, cartoon action that looks dynamic but exciting as well.

31 Millions views on You Tube alone for J.Lo’s music video “Medicine” JLo makes it look easy dancing in high heels on top of a cake, with 40 dancers, over the top hair, and a designer dress, all while the cake is rotating.

Safety is the utmost important aspect while working at any height. The Stunt Coordinator and Stunt rigging team used harnesses and safety lines to hook to the talent to keep them safe.
TJ White Action Designer and Stunt Coordinator just released his latest 2021 stunt reel. Working with talent Ken Block, Will Smith, Wrong Turn – The Foundation, Green Day, JLo, Chevy, Kid Cudi, and more.
To defy gravity, wirework was used in the Dua Lipa music video “Lost In Your Light” feat. Miguel. Working with wires can be very dangerous and time consuming. Using the right stunt rigging company is crucial for the right design and safety.
In this particular stunt rig, T Minus Productions Stunt Department had to prep, and test several stunt flying rigs the day before with a stunt double before they could put Dua Lipa and Miguel in the rig the following day. The team with Stunt Coordinator TJ White and his 8 Stunt riggers and 2 crane operators achieved this by using manual wire work much like you have seen in Hong Kong action films. By going manual and not using computerized winches it gave them the ability to move faster from location to location on set.
Dua Lipa not only sang and performed during this video but did this while she was flying through the air at 35 feet height in the air. I expect to see this triple threat to be in action films.

Director – Photogragher Stillz came onto the music video scene strong joining Bad Bunny as his creative director. Stillz comes with a photography background working in many formats between film and digital. He likes mixing with formats even shooting on VHS on set. It is common that Stillz will have his BTS team shooting with older VHS cameras much like your parents shot with in the 1980’s. This gives several looks and feels to the imagery that is taken on set with Bad Bunny.
In the “Dakiti” shoot production had to deal with many difficult elements such as shooting in the sand on the beach, filming underwater with a custom Submarine from SeaMarine Hydro in the middle of the ocean on the island of Catalina. The team filmed jet skiing in the middle of the ocean and shot a scene with talent in an underwater set.
Filming in open water takes a lot of planning and an experienced crew to pull it off. Working with a skilled Marine Coordinator and Stunt Coordinator can save you time and money on these complex shoots. Water is one of those elements that will slow down the speed of filming much like working with children and animals. Working with talent and crew around water is very dangerous and should not be taken lightly. Working with skilled water safety and water crew can not only save a talent or crew members life but can increase productivity while filming in the water.

Max Barbakow created a fun environment that set the stage for this dynamic script to come to life. Starring Andy Samberg, Cristin Milioti, J.K.
